Fisherman’s Beach

A lovely little slip of white sandy beach, tucked between huge granite boulders, Fisherman’s Beach is a tiny cove just a few steps from the penguin colony at Boulder’s Beach in Simon’s Town. Fisherman’s Beach is a great place for a quiet walk with your pup, as long as they are kept on a lead. Simon’s Town is famous for the colony of African penguins that make Boulders Beach their home. Although Boulders Beach is off-limits to dogs because of the penguin population, there is another beach that is great for you and your pup. Fisherman’s beach is popular with swimmers, snorkelers, picnickers, dog-walkers, and suntanners. The slightly warmer waters within False Bay make it ideal for water sports such as kayaking, surfing, and swimming (for the brave!) The little sandy cove of Fisherman’s Beach is bordered by a beautiful green lawn, which is perfect for picnics and suntanning. You are more than welcome to bring your pup along for a walk on this beautiful stretch of beach, but be sure to bring the lead, as dogs are only allowed on the beach if they are on a lead, and this little spot can get quite busy when the weather is good.
