Kalk Bay is a vibrant and bustling coastal village. It is lined with a seaside road filled to the brim with quaint coffee bars, trendy restaurants, boutique and antique shops, and lovely bookstores. Known for its busy fishing harbour, Kalk Bay is the quintessential bohemian community and one of the Cape’s trendiest towns. Popular with anglers as a result of its long fishing history, Kalk Bay has a peaceful and laid-back energy. A tiny little beach within the harbour offers a great spot for dog-walkers and families. Dogs are more than welcome on the beach at Kalk Bay at all times of the day between April to November. Take note that no dogs are allowed on the beach between 10:00 and 18:00 from December to March.
