Milnerton is a little coastal town found alongside Table Bay in Cape Town. Although flanked by the chilly Atlantic Ocean, this is a swimming beach and welcomes dogs to run freely. Milnerton Beach is well-known for its working lighthouse and amazing views of Table Mountain. Milnerton Lagoon flows into the sea at this point and provides the perfect habitat for flamingos and other birdlife. This beach is popular with surfers, kite-surfers, and brave swimmers, and there are life-guards present for your safety. Milnerton Beach is relatively well-kept and clean and is great for walking, jogging, or picnics. Dogs are allowed to run free along Milnerton Beach, as well as Lagoon Beach. Check the weather out before you plan a day out with your best bud as the beach is quite exposed and can get windy. There is ample parking available. If you’d prefer a longer hike, take the 10 km walking trail from Milnerton to Table View Beach, which welcomes off-lead dogs too.
