‘The Pipe’, ‘Pollock’, or ‘Pollok’ Beach? Regardless of what it’s called or how it’s spelt, this beautiful Sunshine Coast beach is perfect for you and your pup. Enjoy a stroll or pack a picnic – the options are endless at Pollock Beach. Locally known as the ‘Pipe’ due to its great surfing conditions, Pollock Beach is situated only six km from central Port Elizabeth. It has a large car park, with a number of great facilities such as public ablutions, walking and cycling paths, a shopping village, and a huge lawn area perfect for picnics. Pollock Beach is dog-friendly and your furchild will be allowed to run free off-leash. But, try to keep to the lawn area, as the beach can get very crowded and you may find not all beach lovers are dog lovers. If you want to take a longer walk, grab your pup’s lead and harness and try the 2 km long elevated walkway that stretches all the way from the parking lot to King’s Beach and winds its way through the sand dunes. So, whether you and your four-legged friend feel like a leisurely pet-friendly picnic or a lovely long walk alongside a sunny white beach, Pollock Beach has it all.
