uMhlanga Beach

The famous uMhlanga Promenade is perfect for a stroll with your best furry friend. If you have ever visited this beautiful spot, you will be familiar with its popularity among runners, walkers, and dog-lovers. The uMhlanga Promenade spans almost three kilometres and runs alongside the ocean, beginning at Durban View Park in the south and ending at Umhlanga Lagoon Nature Reserve in the north. Well-maintained, clean, and safe, the Promenade is a popular route for runners, walkers, and dog-lovers. Grab your pup’s lead, doggy bags, and a sunhat and make your way down to the Promenade. Designated bins along the route are there for your dog’s waste so be sure to pick up any messes left behind by your furry bestie. Because it is so busy, you will need to keep your pup on a lead. No dogs are allowed to run free here and this is to prevent potential harm to other dogs or people. It is unclear if dogs are allowed on Umhlanga Beach itself, so it is best to keep to the Promenade.
